what great magical symmetry! the pothole appears to be imitating the shape of the cloud soaring across it in the sky – or vice versa –, and it's the exact earthly negative of the skyscape. up above: white clouds surrounded by a dark sky. down below: a dark pothole surrounded by a white beach. needless to say, to present it as monochrome was a good choice! greetings, sabine.
