Yellow

Well i took this picture 2 days ago. It is exactly as it was shot. Any comments on how it could be done better???

Lately i am trying not to adjust a lot my images. All the latest ones are exactly as i took them therefore i am asking for your opinion on during shooting.

Thanks in advance.
Maria

On my opinion i think you should focus on the center of the calla lilly. and leave the rest as it is. i like the colours and composition. kind regards

You have composed it nicely, you need a small f number to give more depth of field and your focus seems to be on the edge of the red cloth not the flower ! also use photo shop to remove unwanted spots on the flower !i always do that ,hope this info helps Maria ,and aways study other members photos thats the best way of learning ,cheers.Tony.

Sorry to say the auto focus of your camera has selected the edge of the red cloth to focus on leaving the main subject out of focus ( this is very common ) Try manual focus or selected the focus point in the centre of the subject. The colours and composition are all fine.

Well composed - the focal point is off should be on the flower, you also have a shallow dof. A lot depends on the effect you are trying to create. do you have a dof preview button your camera to see the dof so you can adjust the aperture. Hope this helps as well as the other comments. Keep experimenting. It's better to get it right in camera.

Greetings Harold

When taking your shot, if you have auto focus then make sure your point of focus is where you wish it ti be, on this shot I would think it should have been on the center of the lily. You could always use the manual focus function so that you can focus on the part you wish to be sharp and then you can recompose the shot as you would like it to be.
It is good to show pics as they are shot but sometimes it is well to use the 'LAyers' > levels tool as this will enable you to brighten the colours just a little, which is what I feel this shot could benefit by.
It is not a must to show pictures that are 'as taken' all the tools in ps or which ever program you have are there for a purpose....that of making your pictures the very best that they can be.......try them and see. I think you will find that the subtle differences you get will please you :)))
Even before the advent of Digital, photographers used filters and various other means to enhance their pictures when they develpoed and printed their shots....so why not now with digi...it is all so very much easier than with film :)))))))

I think that others have given you many things to try so I will not add to them. My advice is to keep taking photos, keep posting and have fun. -archie

Interessante Composizione. Poco nitida, credo debba soffermarti di più sulla messa fuoco manuale. Ciao a presto Antonello

J'aurais placé la tige plus dans la diagonale et la fleur sur le point fort bas gauche. Cette photo est néanmoins très belle. Compliments. Amitiés.

Buono il colore, leggermente sfumata,
