Diese 150 Jahre alte Eiche steht auf der Stelle, an der die Quelle entspringt welche früher das "alte Dorf" gespeist hat - das alte Dorf befand sich um diesen Baum herum auf den heutigen Ackerflächen oberhalb von Wendhausen (Hildesheim).
