Beim Bau der Kuranda Railway,eröffnet 1891, die Strecke geht über 300
Höhenmeter, 54 z.T. abenteuerliche Brücken, 14 Tunnels und 98 Kurven von Freshwater (Cairns) nach Kuranda. Früher Nachschubstrecke für Bergarbeiter und beim Bau des Barron-Falls Staudamm, heute Touristenattraktion.
