The shot was taken in very low daily light, actually it was just couple minutes before sunset.
The place is called Anna Bay.
Equipment used: Canon 350d, Canon 17-40mm /f4, Canon 72mm UV (HAze-shurp cut), stativ

just before sunset.. long shadows on this waves of sandbut I think I prefer the branch in the other one.. it was drawing something too.. cheers Véronique

Owner of lonely stone ! :))) Or may this is is not stone on front of the picture ?I would like to ask about this 17-40 lens. Do you like it - how it works? I wish to buy it someday for using in old city context with very narrow streets in my city. Unfortunately 24 mm on my lens (24-85) is really sad impressions..

Yes - again a great shot and the shadow of the fg object works well filling the lower area and creating more depth ... I also would have tried one without the object & with a lower perspective so the ripples appear large and gradually diminish in size into the distance .. it is often a good way of adding impact.
