Der Leipziger Turm in Halle

Er ist ein 30 m hoher frei stehender Wachturm aus dem 15. Jh., der aus Bruchsteinen erbaut wurde.
Die Mauern des "Runden Turm" sind unten ca. 2,80 Meter dick. Ursprünglich war der Turm mit einer Ziegeldachspitze bedeckt, erst später im 16. Jh. bekam er die so genannte welsche Haube mit vier Lukarnen (frz. Dachfenster) und der Laterne (Krönung der Haube oder Kuppel mit einem turmartigen Aufsatz). Seit dem Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts trägt der Turm eine Uhr. Die Rekonstruktion des Turmes fand 1996-1997 statt. Mit einem Aufwand von einer halben Million Mark wurde er wieder in alter Schönheit hergestellt.

Very nice pictrue with aasymetric position of windows. What does it mean - turm in English ?:) I think i realy missed legend on English version.

It is a 30 m high free standing awaketower from the15. century, which was built from break stones. The walls of the "round tower" are 2.80 meters thick. Later in 16. century got he the welsche hood in such a way specified with four Lukarnen (frz. rooflights) and the lantern (coronation of the dome with a tower-like essay). Since the end of the 16. century carries the tower a clock. The reconstruction of the tower took place between 1996-1997. At an expenditure of a half million Deutschmark it was repaired in old beauty.
