Where the Nymph was hidden....

Greece
Aegean Sea
Cyklades
island of Amorgos

There are many versions in Greek Mythology of how Cyklades islands originated in the middle of Aegean Sea. One of them says that Cyklades were beautiful Nymphs in the posession of Poseidon, brother of Zeus and king of the seas till the day that Zeus claimed them back. Poseidon, then, full of rage turned them to stones except his beloved one to whom rendered back the human nature and rescued her in the heights of Amorgos...

I keep repeating that Amorgos is an island for lovers, writters, poets, painters, photographers and rather..adventurers. It's a massive rock of volcanic rock with island's most impressive point it's heights eternally beaten by wistling winds. These heights offer unforgettable sunrises and sunsets... Ah!, there are also few beaches hidden among the coastal rocks!...

: ) what a triumph the rescued one must have felt, initially, at least, having both the stone and the zeus cup pass from her!*; ) initially, i said, because what would amphitrite have to say about this? stashing a mistress away on amorgos! "jesus, po'! get her out of my sight – pronto!"*** she's no hera of course but still… a wife! ah, those ancient deities – all lecherous gamblers of some sort! a rescued nymph has to be ON THE ALERT at all times! ; )) – – what a magical image this is, alexander! love the look and architecture of those windmills! the dainty sails – like something leonardo would paint… how about a daring variation of the myth, though? the one with the remaining sails: another nameless nymph spared! this time by don quixote who decapitated the rest of them in fury, not recognizing them as nymphs turned into windmills but mistaking them for spiteful giants… ; ))) greetings, sabine.

It looks and sounds like a truly magical place, in a rugged kind of way. I can imagine the sunrises and sutsets from atop a place like this.... breath taking, awe inspiring, and amazing.
A superb scene with great light cutting across those old windmills.

    :))
