Seit bereits 50 bis 55 Millionen Jahren lebt das Breitmaulnashorn auf der Erde. Fossile Funde stammen aus dem späten Pleistozän und dem frühen Holozän.

Heute steht das Breitmaulnashorn kurz vor der Ausrottung. Die Unterart Ceratotherium simum cottoni wird in der Roten Liste der IUCN als Critically Endangered (CR) geführt.

wow - richtig coole Aufnahme!

finde es zwar teilweise etwas eng im schnitt, aber das tut der Wirkung keinen Abbruch - toll gemacht :)
