Gardasee ( italienisch : Lago di Garda oder Benaco) ist der größte See in Italien .
Er befindet sich in Norditalien, etwa auf halber Strecke zwischen Brescia und Verona sowie zwischen Venedig und Mailand .
Gletscher bildeten diese alpine Region am Ende der letzten Eiszeit .
Der See und seine Ufer sind zwischen den Provinzen aufgeteilt Verona (im Südosten), Brescia (Südwesten), und Trentino (Norden).
