Die Walliser Schwarzhalsziegen kennzeichnen sich vor allem dadurch, dass die vordere Körperhälfte schwarz und die hintere weiss behaart ist. Beide Geschlechter tragen Hörner; die Hörner der Böcke können bis zu 80 Zentimeter lang sein.
