To me one of the most beautiful of the Lapwings. This one was one of many that was foraging for insects at the Lower Sabie Waterhole. The crocodiles had no interest in them as they were baking in the sun and beside, they would merely be a little snack to these large giants in the picture below
Useful and handy this yellow bib tied under his chin - it protects his "clothes" while he is eating and is also very decorative:)) Stunning quality of the image.
Have a lovely evening, my friend. Viola
This ist a very very good picture of this interesting bird, you have done a brilliant work. I like the colours, the soft and realistic contrast and sharpness on the animal - its really great.

at first i wondered about his striking yellow "bib", but then i read viola's comment, and her explanation sounds perfectly plausible to me: a spill protection both effective and decorative at the same time – yes, that's it! i have nothing to add, except maybe that all messy eaters should be born with one! ; )))))) greetings, sabine.
A fantastic shot of this beautiful bird... his yellow beak and bip are really impressing. Stunning sharpness and amazing colours.
Have a very nice week too, dear Deryck.
Greetings, Ursula
