Aufgenommen im Neuen Botanischen Garten Kiel. Die natürliche Heimat der Strauch-Pfingstrose ist China. Hauptlebensraum der Wildform ist das Hochgebirge, weshalb sie sehr widerstandsfähig ist. Veredelte Formen sind in Gärten weltweit anzutreffen.
