Nach fast zweijähriger Umbauphase steht der Termin für die Wiedereröffnung der St.-Joseph-Kirche in der Viersener Südstadt jetzt fest. Am Freitag, 1. Juni, wird das umgestaltete Gotteshaus vom emeritierten Weihbischof Karl Reger als Grabeskirche eingeweiht.
Der festliche Gottesdienst beginnt um 18.30 Uhr. Weihbischof Reger – er war von 1966 bis 1970 selbst Kaplan an der damaligen Pfarrkirche St. Joseph – wird den neuen Altarbereich und den Friedhof (Kolumbarium) einsegnen.
