Das Engels-Haus in Wuppertal war eines der fünf Wohnhäuser, die die Familie Engels im ehemaligen Unterbarmer Bruch besaß. Es ist nicht das Geburtshaus von Friedrich Engels (1820–1895), das etwa 100 Meter weiter östlich stand und im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört wurde. Jedoch wuchs Engels in diesem Haus auf. Friedrich Engels Sen. (1796–1860) ist in diesem Haus geboren.

Das Engels-Haus, nahe der Friedrich-Engels-Allee, bildet heute zusammen mit dem Museum für Frühindustrialisierung das sogenannte Historische Zentrum. (www.wikipedia.de)
