Ein dreiteiliger FLIRT der Westfalenbahn fährt gerade im Bahnhof Altenbeken an. Hersteller des FLIRT ist Stadler. Die 2005 gegründete Westfalenbahn (Sitz in Bielefeld) betreibt seit Ende 2007 für zehn Jahre das Teutoburger-Wald-Netz zwischen Münster, Osnabrück und Paderborn.
