this is so strange! i just quoted from "war and peace" in another comment: andrej bolkonskij severely injured in the battle of austerlitz. all he sees is the sky, the vast vault of heaven, the soaring thick gray clouds. from one second to the other everything quiets down for him. the yelling and screaming of the fight stops. "why didn't i notice it it before," he asks himself, "this magnificent endless sky?" and he considers himself lucky to have finally found out about it. how everything else is a lie. only the vast endless sky a reality! nothing but peace and silence… now me, i'm amazed at how well "it" all fits ; )), the quote, which isn't a quote but a paraphrase because i won't ever find it again, after i clicked myself out of project gutenberg… ; )) nothing but the sky matters – it's a thought that comes to my mind too, though, when i look at this beautiful city heaven of yours! so i hope you don't mind my prattling… ; )) greetings, sabine.
