In Südtirol sagen sie "Wo ein Waal ist ist auch ein Weg".
Ein Waal ist ein horizontaler Wasserkanal am Hang, der Wasser zu den Apfelplantagen oder Weinhängen bringt. Wo zuviel Wasser ist, lässt man es durch solche Wasserfälle ab- bzw. überlaufen. Entlang eines solchen Waals führen schmale Wege, auf denen man ganz ohne Höhenmeter wandern kann, tolle Blicke ins Tal inklusive.
