Borkum 5. Januar 2012, 4 Stunden vor Hochwasser. Wenn der Wind nicht dreht wird es brenzlich! - Er hatte dann doch ein Einsehen ;-)
An diesem Tag wurde nachmittags der Fährverkehr ab Emden eingestellt.

Die hier ansatzweise überflutete Strandmauer hat eine Höhe von rund 3 Meter. Bei mittlerem Hochwasser sind es von der Strandmauer bis zum Spülsaum 6 - 10 Meter.

Ein schöner Schnappschuss! - Es ist schon ein brenzliches Gefühl, wenn die Wellen so hoch sind, dass sie auf die Strandpromenade klatschen. Aber eine solche Sturmflut hat für Fotografen auch ihren Reiz.
