Der Hirtenmaina (Acridotheres tristis) ist ein Singvogel aus der Familie der Stare und wird auch Hirtenstar genannt.
Da sie mit anderen Vögeln aggressiv um Nistplätze konkurrieren, deren Eier zerstören und die Küken töten und darüber hinaus dort ansässige kleinere Säugetiere verdrängen, stellt der Hirtenmaina eine Bedrohung für die angestammten Ökosysteme dar und wird aus diesem Grund als bedrohliche invasive Spezies klassifiziert.
