Many of the small towns in South Africa has beautiful old sandstone churches and buildings dating from the late 19th century. It has always been a dream of mine to produce a book documenting these old buildings.

Anlie and I drove to a very small town in the countryside called Frankfort, probably named after the German city Frankfurt. We came across this old church that seems to be fallen out of use, but it didn't seem to lose its charm

Very good docu shot of this ancient church.
Your idea about the book sounds very interesting to me. Let's hope you can realize it one day.

A lovely shot of this fine old church. I hope that your dream comes true Deryck, and that you produce your book.

A great addition to your beautiful church images .... a lovely little church, very sturdy looking with its blocks of stone and pretty against the blue sky and fluffy clouds.
greetings, Adele

sturdy and reliable looking, and the materials it was built of integrated beautifully into the grassy landscape it's surrounded by and whose organic part it has long become! greetings, sabine. p.s.: looking forward to the book! ; ))

It is a very nice idea to collect the faces of all these nice churches. Like this, they all have a special charm.

Eine interessante Geschichte erzählst Du da ! Ja der Glaube hat die Einwanderer zusammen gehalten !
Als erstes wurde oft eine Kirche gebaut.
Ein interessantes Vorhaben hast Du mit dem Buch !

You tell an interesting story there! Yes, the faith has held the immigrants together!
First a church was often built.
You have an interesting plan with the book!

Eine kleine Kirche, die immer noch sehr, sehr pittoresque aussieht! Der Naturstein wird auch noch lange Zeit sehr schön bleiben. Mit dem blauen Himmel wirkt alles sehr romantisch...

LG!
Angelika
