Üppige Baumfarne mit mächtiger Größe und imposantem
Kronendurchmesser wechseln ab mit filigranen Minifarnen.

Der Silberfarn erreicht eine Höhe bis zu 10 m,
der schwarze Baumfarn sogar bis zu 20 m.

In Neuseeland gibt etwa 200 unterschiedliche Farnarten,
von denen etwa 50 Arten endemisch sind.

Diese Pflanzenfamilie ist für Neuseeland so typisch,
dass ein Farnblatt als Emlem der Air New Zealand dient
und im Wappen des Landes zu finden ist.
