In der Nähe von Aysgarth und Caperby kann man auch die Burgruine von Bolton Castle besichtigen. Die Burg aus dem 14 Jahrhundert ist kaum befestigt, wird jedoch durch ihre hohen bis zu fünfstöckigen Türme charakterisiert. „The highest walls of any house he had seen“ ,sagte Sir Francis Knollys.
