El Hierro verfügt zwar über kaum Sandstrände, bietet dafür aber einige tolle, Wind - und Wellenumtoste Meeresschwimmbecken, wie die halbwegs vor den Brechern des Atlantik geschützte Felsenbucht von Charco Manso. Und wenn die Brandung einmal zu stark ist und das Baden nicht zulässt, wird man oft mit gigantischen, bis zu 20 Meter hohen, Wasserfontänen entschädigt. Ein beeindruckender und nur recht wenig frequentierter Ort.
