das passiert eben. Mein EF 70-200 1:4 L IS USM kommt auch oft genug nicht hinterher. Manchmal hilft es, etwas weiter weg zu sein, dann ist die Relativbewegung nicht so groß. Ich schätze, du warst auf die Spatzen aus, oder? Und dann schnell runter auf 200mm, um den Greif zu erwischen...
