At the highland games in Oban, watched and listened this Piper for ages being judged. He was superb ! Pipers when they are good send shivers down your spine !

You are so right about the shivers, Bryan .... and the goosebumps - just have to think about the lone piper who plays for the tourists in Victoria !!!
Your portrait is excellent - the toning gives it that timeless feeling, and the framing looks as if this image would stand on some mother's bureau !!!

great portrait of the man and his music! too bad we can't listen to him. i've never witnessed a solo piping before, i think. so no shivers down my spine either… love how you captured both the concentration, the dicipline and the devotion in is face – amazing, how he manages to look very handsome during the process, too! someone once took a picture of me while trying to blow the trombone – yikes, i'm glad it was in pre-facebook times… ; )) greetings, sabine. p.s.: don't care that much for the "nostalgic editing", but i guess that's just a matter of personal taste…

I like the ageing effect that you have achieved with this shot. I agrre that when they are played the pipes are good, but unfortunately there are many who play very poorly.
