Jingpeng Pass 1st level

Jingpeng Pass ascent : this double-header has left Reshui station and is fighting the 1st level of the long climb to Jingpeng Pass summit tunnel. The second engine is freshly painted, means it just came out of an overhaul at Daban shed or CNR workshop.
From this spot, the engines smoke could be seen 20 km further away. My hotel was located at walking distance from this position, so the possibility of hearing the exhaust and puffing noise of the heavy freights during the whole night made then any sleeping time as fully unnecessary and displaced ! Such scenes definitely placed the Jingpeng Pass as the top-ranked and most spectacular steam location on Earth during the last years of that traction method.
