Beim Verlassen des Central Valley in Richtung Pazifikküste findet man diese Pferdeköpfe. Es sind noch in Betrieb befindliche Erdölpumpen. Das Nicken der Köpfe erzeugt einen faszinierenden Rhythmus und gibt dieser öden Landschaft einen besonderen Reiz.
