The American Cementary in Margraten (Netherlands, near Maastricht) is one of the largest war cementaries in Europe. More than 8300 soldiers have found here their last place to rest. - NO MORE WAR -

I like this shot , not for the meaning of the visual but for the title. We are often stuck in the national view point. SO when I think of Heros I think of French, British and Americans., Now for the first time I'm presented with the hero's of the other side. "Brilliant". a shot with a powerful "aura": i can literally feel its "funnel composition" reach out for me, can feel that singled-out cross in the first row almost touch the root of my nose!! and the crosses look like rows of people, standing still and spreading their arms as if united in some kind of silent protest – no more war!! fascinating! lg, sabine.Rainer Sollfrank 09/10/2010 20:35
