The Leopard
The leopard is a mammal of the Felidae family and the smallest of the four roaring cats in the genus Panthera.
The leopard has relatively short legs and a long body, with a large skull. Physically, it most closely resembles the jaguar, although it is usually smaller and of slighter build. Its fur is marked with rosettes which lack internal spots, unlike those of the jaguar. Leopards that are melanistic, either completely black or very dark in coloration

Der Leopard ist ein Schleichjäger, der vornehmlich bei Dämmerung jagt. Hat er sich ausreichend dicht an seine Beute angepirscht, springt er mit 2 Sätzen über 4 mtr blitzschnell heran und tötet durch Kehlbiss.

Il Leopardo
Il mantello è caratterizzato da una colorazione variabile dal giallo al beige (più chiaro sull'addome, sotto la coda e all'interno delle zampe) e da particolari macchie nere di forma irregolare.
La colorazione e lo spessore della pelliccia variano notevolmente con l'habitat colonizzato: negli ambienti con climi più freddi il manto appare più folto, mentre in quelli più umidi si ha una tendenza ad un manto più scuro. Proprio per la sua splendida pelliccia è stato cacciato per molto tempo, sino a condurlo, in alcune regioni, a rischio di estinzione.
Le orecchie, di piccole dimensioni, sono posteriormente nere e presentano una macchia bianca al centro. Gli individui affetti da melanismo presentano il manto scuro e sono noti anche come pantere

@ Iria .. lieber nicht, der hatte da gerade ein Kleinkind im Visier, das ihn tierisch aufregte ... manchmal ist so eine Gitterstange davor doch gar nicht so schlecht ...
