HI Jeff,
One criticism - the bright blue patch at upper left is a bit prominent since it is cut off from the rest of the image by the telephone pole. Maybe some clouds up there would tie it together ...
Great job of fusing images here - I can't find any technical flaws at all. It has a real "oil on canvas" impression and works well as a single "landscape".
Those older cars have a personality that newer one lack - they almost take on the roles of characters in this drama. Well composed placement of elements as well as the choice of dimensions overall.
regards,
Mark

yessss, flawless fusion my friend!! the big dark telephone pole's position could be used to further support the title, i think... the country and its landscapes tend toward divisive and already sharply divided, so i was thinking that the telephone pole, if moved a bit to the right, could symbolize the nature of division and create an interesting diptych. just thinking out loud as usual...

i love the angle at which you shot the architectural elements!!! the FACADE plays a huge role in the concept behind this image and the parts of the sky that seem 'flatter' (the orange 'crack' that traces around the sky... very cool).

great... i feel a lot of push and pull in this; lots of potentially opposing forces, right down to the largesse of the sky, title and main subjects vs. the tiny details like the traffic cones and piles of wood and such. great and ironic humorous touch, those traffic cones... : )))

again, a provocative piece of work... looks good, too!
cheers,
s

Hi Jeff,

Personally I would have cropped it to the right-hand side of the pole, but a wonderful image all the same.

Kindest regards,
John.

Where is the waste of yesteryear? Where is the elegance, opulence also, luxury? Everything was disintegrated (see the second law of thermodynamics - entropy)! Yet we are facing long-term effects of pollution - a more concrete presence, a ferocious opponent of life!

Yes, that damn pole has got a lot of 'press'. I was not sure about it either. In the original version there was some 'texture' to it so it wasn't such a black hole in the image. I think I will take a photo of someone holding an 'end of the world' sign and superimpose it on the pole or something...but as to dividing the image...taking it out loses something....which Sara has intuited. Part of the 'meaning' behind the image is this separation which the pole imparts. It not meant to simply be a 'pretty' picture.....Thanks all for your comments.....Jeff

Looks like my old home town of Detroit. The texter is so great. You must be an acomplished professional. Great shot. I hope it's not a picture of my old home town.

Add: Re: The Pole - I think it is an integral part of the picture, Love the way it segments the pic - please dont put a sign on it - too cheesy.
