Pictures From Mountbatten Breakwater, Plymouth, --#6 --The Pilots Boat #2
After the pilot boat had just passed around the breakwater,a combination of the sun and clouds, produced this effect for a few brief moments, and i only had time for a quick shot.. The next picture will show the boat, a very short while later,when the light and conditions had returned to normal again.
After i had taken some unwanted items to the local tip, last Monday evening,i went on to Mountbatten Breakwater,to take some pictures.This breakwater was built around1878 to protect Sutton Harbour and the Cattewater,at the mouth of the river Plym. During WW2 this was a flying boat base, and was barred to the public. In the 1990's,the Plymouth Development Corporation, took over the area,and the breakwater was once again,returned to the people of Plymouth. It gives great views out into Plymouth Sound,and also of Plymouth Hoe and the waterfront.
This series of pictures were taken over about an hour and a half in the evening,at high tide, and it was very windy. But it wasn't raining !!!!!!!!!!
