In 1999 I took my 82 year old father-in-law back to Monte Casino in Italy where he had fought as a soldier in World War II. The abbey, at the top of the hill, was totally destroyed by aerial bombing, but rebuilt after the war. It was an emtional experience for him. I grabbed this shot with a cheap 1MP Kodak digital camera. I feel it shows his real determination to return there before the end of his life. He died in 2006.
