yes, we have to take a look there, again
that we help to stop any kind of war!
sì, dobbiamo prendere uno sguardo là, ancora che contribuiamo ad arrestare qualunque genere di guerra!

Thank you for sharing it with us, Ciao Ikka

Picture on the wall gives the history of this room.

brrr... thanks for sharing this !

Anna Kowalski, 17.02.2008 at 17:00h

The contrast between the horror of this room and the playing children outside...combines the history and "now", (or the future) in this picture.

Atle Garmann, 17.02.2008 at 17:13h

Good photo journalism again Sergio. One can feel that horror and pain the poor victims have experienced! Well done!

Cheers Atle.

A simple and good documentary of the dark side of the human mind! The mood in this photo makes one feel the horror!

A political statement is not enough reason for a photo to be added to the Gallery. This photo is not really making a strong enough statement. The compostion is weak.
Sorry,
Holger

Sorry for the "weak" composition: in that moment the torturated man wasn't available.

I edited a long work in PS to make visible JUST the boy and the children outside! This for creating a contrast between the life and the death: photojournalistic language...

I understand that there may be a lot of emotion and history in this room. But apart from the history, it is not an exceptional photograph. There are millions of rooms in countries around the world that look similar. Contra for the gallery.

IMO, photographic is not only about technical perfection, where it measure in fashion or landscapes.
Journalism photography is an appreciation for that photographer who has taken efforts to get things out for public.
For me it is PRO

Well...good photography (at least for me) is the one that has an impact on a viewer! Doesn’t matter if it evokes positive emotions or negative. Doesn’t matter all the technical stuff - that plays the secondary role. The main criterion is: does the picture engage the viewer, or does not.
Definitely this picture does!
Wish I could vote Sergio. This photo is excellent! (Really ruined my carefree lunch-time:)
I think the gallery gradually will cease to be a place of merit if works like the one you’ve presented, are not making it there.
