Mother applying jagua tattoo to repel insects in their jungle village, Embera Puru, Panama
Where is this from? Nice pic!
Hi Michal, it was taken in a tiny village along the Chagres River in Panama. This woman is applying a jagua tattoo on her son which helps keep insects away in the dense jungle where the Embera Indians live in raised thatched huts. We stay overnight there on our photo tours, and it is always a highlight for our participants!
