Broom is widely cultivated as an ornamental garden shrub with several cultivars selected for variation in flower colour, but these are the flowers of a wild specimen growing in a deciduous forest.

they look especially beautiful, when the sunshine "singles them out" from the underbrush and makes them stand out and shine surrounded by the darkness of the rest of the woods. i noticed this just yesterday, when spotting them from a road bordering on a small woods – highlight of my run! an expert capture of the sunny blossoms that seem to be givers of light themselves, rather than receivers! greetings, sabine.
