The beautiful ornaments they used to place upon automobiles. A lost art. It also lights up in the evening.

You are right, a lost art and it is beautyful to see these kind of magic art on old cars.

But there are special cars, which have special hood ornaments. The following you can see has a naked one on a hood like a scrambled bed sheet :-)

Now this is a hood ornament I have never seen before made of glass or some transparent material. Nice composition and lighting as well.

  It is Lalique Crystal and actually lights in the evening when the lights are turned on. I am glad it isn't on my car, I would be gazing at it as I drove, dangerous ! Ha Ha

  Not only could it pose a distraction as you mention, but I also fear that it would not remain a hood ornament for long. At least not on the rightful owner's car. But it really is a very nice piece of art.

  I agree. It is on a classic Rolls Royce which I know is garaged in a locked garage.
