a large field of "birds" pecking the ground for oil - at least that is what they look like with their non-stop up and down movement ....
in California on the road last March, and on my husband's side - so I had to lean across to get these shots :-)))

Diese Szene erinnert mich an ältere amerikanische Filme. Dein Vergleich mit den pickenden Vögeln gefällt mir übrigens sehr gut.

: ))) yes, i like the nodding donkey term, too! whenever we spotted a single one from our seats in the car as children, we considered ourselves lucky: "wow, did you see the oil pump?!" never seen that many in one place before! an entire field! it makes me think of the 50s movie "giant". the colors and light, too, by the way… great composition here, adele! our eyes first catch on the giant in the foreground, before realizing the striking abundance of them on the horizon! hugs, sabine.

Das erinnert an die Gründerzeiten des Ölbooms. Unweigerlich muß ich an die TV-Serie "Dallas" und J.R.Ewing denken. Ein sehr interessantes Foto.
