Swiss Precision!

Unthinkable in previous decades before privatisation of European railways set in,
a classical Swiss Federal Railways electric on a train in the heart of Germany,
romantic Rhein-valley between Mainz and Koblenz.

As fate would have it right at the point there´s a meeting taking place with another Swiss mate, as only Swiss precision can provide it:

While the train is heading northwards towards Cologne, in the river the yellow vessel is heading towards the Swiss border at Basel, which is it´s home harbour.
It´s name: Piz Amalia, a mountain peak in the Swiss Alps.
The flag clearly shows it´s home country, as well as the sign on the front of the beautiful engine!

Taken near Trechtingshausen on crisp, warm and sunny April 14th, 2007 at temperatures up to 28°C!

Dieses Treffen entdecke ich erst heute. Es ist doch schon verwunderlich, dass man die Fotos seiner Freunde nicht in der Liste wiederfindet, wenn sie in einem anderen dot-Channel eingestellt werden. Ich müsste doch mal öfters auch die .fr, .com usw. anklicken, damit mir solche Knaller-Aufnahemen wie diese nicht entgehen. Was mir hier besonders gefällt, ist, wie sich die Lok farblich ablöst vom Rest, besonders, wo die Container auf den Wagen die Farben blau und gelb des Kahns erwidern. Das hier ist wirklich ein "Kalenderfoto" im positivsten Sinne.

Die Re 4/4 II ist ja eine wirklich schöne scheizer Lok, aber der blaue kasten mit dem Cargo-Logo drauf gefällt mir gar nicht. Aber allein die Kombination Bahn und Schiff auf dem Bild find ich super.

Klasse Aufnahme...solche Lok hab ich auch schon hier in Berlin-Grunewald gesehen...aber leider kein Foto machen können...die S-Bahn war ein bischen zu schnell und ich zu langsam :-)
