... Baoding, Chengde, Handan, Qinghuangdao, Tangshan und Zhangjiakou. Der Name Héběi bedeutet wörtlich 'Nördlich des Flußes' (Huang He - Gelber Fluß). Es wird umschlossen von den Provinz Liaoning, der Inneren Mongolei, Shanxi, Henan und Shandong. Östlich liegt das Gelben Meer. In Shanhaiguan, in der Nähe von Qinghuangdao befindet sich das Ende der Großen Mauer. Sie verläuft durch den nördlichen Teil der Provinz. Die Stadt Chengde mit ihren Tempeln gehört zum Weltkulturerbe. Das Beidaihe Strandbad nahe dem östlichen Ende der Großen Mauer gelegen, ist ein populärer Ort zum Sonnenbaden und Relaxen.
