Marken ( Nederland )
Marken ( plaatselijk: Mereke ) is een voormalige eiland in de Zuiderzee, tegenwoordig Markermeer dat sinds 1957 via een dijk met het vasteland verbonden is.
Het behoort toto de gemeente Waterland in de provincie Noord-Holland.
Geschiedenis
In de dertiende eeuw vestigden zich monniken uit Friesland op het eiland.Hun voornaamste middelen van bestaan waren landbouw en veeteelt. Om zich te beschermen tegen het water werden er dijken rond het eiland aangelegd en werden de woningen op verhogingen gebouwd. In de 14e eeuw waren er regelmatig dijkdoorbraken, waardoor het zoute water weer vrij spel kreeg. De inwoners van Marken gingen zich toeleggen op visserij. De aanleg van de Afsluitdijk in 1932 betekende een eind aan deze bron van inkomsten.
Bij een watersnoodramp in 1916 kwamen 16 mensen op het eiland om het leven en werden tal van mensen dakloos.
Op 17 oktober 1957 werd om 13.11 uur de dijk tussen het vasteland en Marken gesloten.
Eilandbeeld
Al meer dan een eeuw is het voormalige vissersdorp een belangrijke toeriststische trekpleister. De opvallende klederdracht heeft daaraan bijgedragen.
Karakteristiek zijn de houten huizen op palen. Nog ouder zijn de zogenaamde werven, kunstmatige verhogingen waarop werd gewoond.
De hoofdstraat van Marken heet Kerkbuurt.
Een opmerkelijk landschapsbeeld word gevormd door de restanten van het Goudriaankanaal, dat tussen 1826 en 1828 werd aangelegd maar nooit in gebruik werd genomen.
Het kanaal, dat een strategische verbinding had moeten vormen tussen Amsterdam en de Zuiderzee, doorsneed Marken van het zuidwesten naar het noordoosten en was in 1828 al bevaarbaar. Na 1828 groeide het dicht en werd het gedempt; vandaag resteren voornamelijk nog enkele zijsloten. De grote parkeerplaats en de vuilstort liggen op het tracé van het kanaal.
Marken kan ook per boot vanaf Volendam worden bereikt. het water tussen Marken en het vastelan heet de Gouwzee.

Sehr Gutes Foto. Die Steine im Vordergrund verleihen dem Bild eine sehr schöne Tiefe. Den Leuchtturm hätte ich noch entzerrt aber ansonsten eine sehr schöne Stimmung.

You show a picture in a very beautiful perspective. Good picture setup and sharpness. The lighthouse together with the ship takes tension to the picture. Is this snow, salt or spray, in the foreground?
