The last in this trio, shows the Pilots boat, heading out towards the main breakwater to meet up with an incoming boat. This was taken a very short time after the previous shot, and you can see how the lighting conditions have returned to normal.
After i had taken some unwanted items to the local tip, last Monday evening,i went on to Mountbatten Breakwater,to take some pictures. This breakwater was built around1878 to protect Sutton Harbour and the Cattewater,at the mouth of the river Plym. During WW2 this was a flying boat base, and was barred to the public. In the 1990's,the Plymouth Development Corporation, took over the area, and the breakwater was once again, returned to the people of Plymouth. It gives great views out into Plymouth Sound, and also of Plymouth Hoe and the waterfront.
This series of pictures were taken over about an hour and a half in the evening,at high tide, and it was very windy. But it wasn't raining !!!!!!!!!!
I hope you will enjoy the pictures:-)))

Greetings Harold
wow nice !!
wondefull picture !!
i like it!!
@ fab
... this one's good indeed, still I like the first one better - just because of its higher dynamic factor!
Not exactly friendly weather at that moment, was it? But a good opportunity to get a dramatic picture, well done.
Greetings,
Alfred.
Beautiful work Mike , here the sea is the same, nad very windy too. Best wishes
I'm really enjoying this series. Seeing the pilot boats braving stormy weather has reminded me of pictures I have seen in the past of pilots on the Columbia River (along the border between the State of Washington and Oregon, in the Pacific NW), and the fearsome conditions many of them face. I'd definitely rather watch than be along for the ride.
Very nice action shot again Mike...Beautiful serie..
Hugs,
Canan
