looking so peaceful and friendly on the beautiful glittering leaf – as if butter would melt in his mouth! ; )) – and yet there's rumors that this little "asian immigrant" is the nemesis of all other european ladybirds because of its voracious appetite. i guess, there isn't enough aphids for everyone… the irony of it all, so typical of us humans and our short-sighted relationship with nature: apparently, they were introduced to europe and north america "in an attempt to control the spread of aphids" – homemade problems, don't you just love them! ; ))) greetings, sabine. p.s.: i found the wikipedia entry on harmonia axyridis quite interesting! just in case anyone would like to have a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonia_axyridis
I'm just getting my feet wet in the world of macro, and this shot is what I am aiming for. Crisp is the one word that first comes to mind on this photo, not to mention balance and color. The macro world is one I'm hoping to visit on a regular baisi one of these days. As you can see in my portfolio, my attempts at macro are not quite there yet, but I'm trying! This is excellent shooting. Thank you for the share.
