The Living Forest (224) : Willow Catkins
With the mild temperatures of last week, nature was slowly awaking and also the forest was part of the spring show.
Just like the hazel, the willow is one of the early deciduous trees to show catkins in full glory.
The picture shows the beautiful and velvety male catkins of a Goat Willow.
Dutch name : Boswilg
German name : Sal-Weide
Latin name : Salix caprea
