The Living Forest (5) : the Bilisse Rock.
Last weeks I was exploring several forests in the Belgian Ardennes.
This is the 5th. picture of a series illustrating the living forest.
In some forests mass of rocks can be seen which are very impressive, like here the Bilisse Rock (60 meter high, 500 million years old (!), Cambrium Age).
Remarkable : there is life on the rock. Some plants and trees seem to have no problem to grow there.
Location : Solwaster (Belgium)

walking around gives far more detail.
this is fine so you can walk en enjoy the
surrounding and as an extra you can make lovely pictures.

A good forest series Mark. This is a wonderful place with the ferns and trees and rocks. Plants have a way of finding what they need to live even if it is right out of the rocks. -archie
