Lower Antelpope Canyon - 2

Vielen Dank Jacky für den Galerievorschlag

Wir haben uns für den Lower Antelope Canyon entschieden. Der Grund weniger Leute und Fotografen. Man kann einen Foto-Pass lösen und hat dann 2 Stunden Zeit sich im Canyon aufzuhalten.
Leider hat dieser Teil des Canyons auch eine traurige Berühmtheit erlangt. Denn 1997 starben hier 11 junge Leute, die durch die Flut überrascht wurden. Nach intensiven Regenfällen hatte sich ganz in der Nähe ein kleiner See gebildet. Als immer mehr Wasser nachfloss, brach eine natürliche Barriere. Darauf hin fegte eine gewaltige Flutwelle durch den Canyon, die alles mitriss.

Great way to show how the forces of Earth, Wind and Water have created such a beauty.
It must be a wonderful walk along the route - but certainly after a good look at the weather forecast - just in case...
