Some time ago I uploaded a shot of a female Ruddy Darter.

Today I show you a male specimen.
As you can see there’s a huge colour distinction in this dragonfly-species between the male which is strong vivid red and the female with her yellow-brown colour.
Dutch name : Bloedrode heidelibel (mannetje)
German name : Blutrote Heidelibelle (männchen)
Latin name : Sympetrum sanguineum

Das ist natürlich eine Top-Aufnahme, lieber Mark,weil sich die Libelle vor einem schönen Hintergrund ihren Ruheplatz fürs Foto ausgesucht hat.
