I can't say really.....I've only started with graphics 3 months ago and never used anything else than Vue d'esprit, PS and Corel Painter since. Quite pleased with it so far (no wonder when you don't know anything better) ;-)
But what I have noticed is that Bryce f.e. renders water a lot smoother......... can't get is as nice as that with Vue !

yea, bryce is the "godfather" of waterrenderers... at last of the affordable ones
