Yippeeee! Spring is here
Anlie and I took a early morning visit to Eco Park. Within a couple of days, everything has changed. The trees got new young leaves, the grass has a new life to it, the light is more vibrant. And then the animals.... What can I say, they are just beautiful. Most herds have young ones among them.
The animals in these shots from top to bottom:
Oryx - Dessert animals that love the abundance of food in Eco Park. The little ones that look like cattle are actually oryx calves. They change colour as they get older. A full grown male weighs up to 240kg
Red Hartebeest - A large buck of about 160kg. These animals love the open plains of the South African highveld where I live. Not the most gracious animal and hates me taking its picture
Waterbuck - Also large animals weighing up to 260kg. They love marshes and dams. Their wooly hide secretes a foul smelling oily substance protecting their skins from the water.

Every photo for itself is wonderful. but together they really give a good impression of spring.

This is a quite wonderful and successful collage with three quite great admissions.... Nice if so much new and young life blossoms awoken ... if everything and they get younger generation.... Especially nicely I find the scenery in itself the animals feel fine obviously... You are a very good photographer. Class....
