Aria by Liberman
This is a picture of a small detail of a massive 48 feet high painted steel sculpture by Alexander Liberman titled 'Aria'. It stands on the grounds of the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
It is possible to walk through this massive work and view its parts in detail and from different perspectives. One's experience of it depends very much on the weather, especially the appearance of the background sky and the intensity and color and angle of the light as it strikes the sculpture. This image was taken on a cloudless day in early October.
