The Living Forest (18) : Yellow stagshorn
Last weeks I was exploring several forests in the Belgian Ardennes.
This is the 18th. picture of a series illustrating the living forest.
Fungi grow mainly in autumn.
However there are quite a few species that also grow in spring or summer, like this Yellow stagshorn (Calocera viscosa), a very greasy species.
Dutch name : Kleverig koraalzwammetje
German name : Klebriger hörnling

Beautiful, detailed shot with excellent colors, Mark.
But I looked after Amanita rubescens, and it is a poisoning fungus and it looks totally different... (in Hungary...) Amanita rubescens is a kind of agaric with hat.

You're completely right, it is Calocera viscosa.
I made a mistake and confused the latin name with the fungi of the photo for tomorrow.
